Stomp, or creating the blocks, is one of the most critical aspects of Carve. Snow is blown into 10x10x12 foot forms and compressed by stompers to create the blocks for carving.
International teams arrive from Canada, Germany, Finland, Mexico, The Netherlands, Santa Cruz, Wisconsin, and Tahoe Truckee.
Carving begins! Don't miss the night of January 31st and February 1st, as we light the sculptures for night viewing. Great opportunity for fabulous photos!
Sculptures are judged at 9am! Many of the carvers have stayed up late into the night to prepare for judging, but the party is just starting at Northstar! See Ice Sculpture demos mid mountain and enjoy the party all day!
Don't miss the Carve Awards Ceremony on stage at Northstar Village! Check the Itinerary for details.
